Droidpirate Forward
Privacy Policy
Effective September 8, 2026
This policy describes the Droidpirate Forward Android app, the Droidpirate Internet relay, and the app's support-ticket service. Contact Droidpirate at support@droidpirate.com with privacy questions or deletion requests.
Notification content can be sensitive. Use forwarding only on devices you own or are authorized to administer. The optional Internet relay processes notification content on its server. HTTPS protects transmission, but Internet relay payloads are not end-to-end encrypted.
Information accessed by the app
- Notifications: after Android notification access is granted, the app can read notification titles, text, icons, source application names and package names. Depending on the originating app, this may include messages, sender information, contact images, or other personal and sensitive content.
- Application information: the app reads available installed-app names, package names, and icons to let you select apps for forwarding. Older builds may request broader installed-app visibility.
- Device and pairing information: the app creates identifiers and stores a device name, pairing information, authentication tokens, connection status, app selections, and settings.
- Local history: received notifications and their source information are saved on the receiving device so you can view and clear them.
Nearby forwarding
Nearby forwarding uses Google Play services Nearby Connections over supported Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. Connection setup displays a verification code for both devices to approve. Android may require nearby-device or location permissions for discovery, depending on the Android version. The app does not request GPS coordinates for its forwarding functionality.
Google documents that its Nearby SDK collects connection-performance information and device information, including model, country, build version, and application package name, for usage analytics. Google provides a control under the device's Google Usage & diagnostics settings. See Google's Nearby Connections data-collection information and Google's Privacy Policy.
Optional Internet relay
If you configure an Internet relay, the app sends notification payloads to the selected HTTPS server for delivery to the other paired device. Payloads include notification titles, text, icons, source app information, and source device information. Pairing requests also transmit the app-generated device identifier and device name. The server records pairing information, hashed device tokens, timestamps, and queued notification payloads.
The server operator can access these payloads. Do not forward information you do not want processed by that server. If you use your own or another operator's relay, that operator's privacy and retention practices apply. The app's Internet relay is optional; nearby forwarding does not require configuring it.
Support tickets
When you submit an in-app support request, Droidpirate receives the name, email address, subject, and message you enter, plus the device model, Android version, and app version. The support service also stores a hash derived from the request's IP address to limit repeated submissions. Tickets and replies are stored in the support database, and confirmation messages or replies may be emailed to the address you provide.
These details are used to provide support, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse of the support service. Avoid including passwords, pairing tokens, or unnecessary sensitive notification content in a ticket.
Recipients and service providers
Forwarded data is made available to the devices you pair. Internet relay and support data are processed by Droidpirate's website hosting, database, and email infrastructure, including the HostGator hosting service. Network requests necessarily disclose connection information such as an IP address to the destination server and its hosting infrastructure. Google Play services processes Nearby SDK data as described above. The Android app does not contain advertising.
Retention and deletion
- Local history: use View notifications > Clear All to remove the received notification history stored by the app. Clearing history does not cancel already displayed system notifications or delete copies on another phone or server.
- Droidpirate relay queue: the current website relay removes event files older than 48 hours when a device in that pair next makes an authenticated request. This is activity-triggered cleanup, not a guaranteed deletion exactly 48 hours after receipt. An inactive pair's data can remain until activity resumes or the pair is removed.
- Pairing: unpairing removes that device's registration. When no devices remain in a pair, the website relay attempts to remove the pair's remaining files. Removing one of two devices does not immediately delete all queued notifications.
- Support: support tickets and replies have no automatic expiry in the current support service and remain until manually deleted. Marking a ticket closed does not itself delete it.
- Operational copies: website logs, email copies, and hosting backups are separate from the app's local history and active relay files. Contact us about applicable retention and deletion of those copies; clearing the app does not erase them.
To request deletion or ask what data is held, email support@droidpirate.com with the subject “Droidpirate Forward data request.” Include the support-ticket code or enough non-secret information to identify the relevant record. Do not send your pairing token or passwords. We may need to verify that the request concerns your data before acting on it.
Your choices
You can change selected apps, disconnect nearby forwarding, unpair the Internet relay, and revoke notification access in Android settings. Android's notification-access setting controls the app's access to notifications. Device permissions can also be managed in Android settings. Only pair with trusted devices and keep pairing codes private.
Android backup behavior depends on your device settings and app version; backed-up app data may be handled by your configured backup provider. Review your device's backup settings when managing stored copies.
