We’ve created a simple how to guide for users looking to play Super Nintendo ROMs/Emulators on your Android smartphone or tablet device.

The first step in playing ROMs/Emulators on your Android device is picking which emulator you like the best. There are a few you can choose from, however in our tutorial we chose “SuperGNES” which is free in the Android Market/Google Play Store. We felt it was the best SNES Emulator our there some of the features it offers are:

- Scans your internal/external SD for SNES ROMs
- Downloads cover art for each individual game (awesome)
- Best game compatibility
- Huge database of game genie cheat codes
- Supports SMC, FIG, SFC, ZIP and 7z formats

Emulator Options:
SuperGNES (Free) Download / Install via the Google Play Store
SuperGNES ($3.99) Download / Install via the Google Play Store

What device are you using?

We need to know which device(s) is currently most used by our visitors.

Please leave a comment with your device model such as (Samsung Galaxy Nexus). If you are running a custom ROM on your device please specify.

This is strictly for the MetaMorphs section of Droidpirate.com

Other than that, all MetaMorph’s are going to be updated and downloadable by device firmware. Such as “Froyo, Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich”. All MetaMorph’s will be updated with a back to stock option. MetaMorph’s will be for STOCK devices only unless your ROM creator did not switch any APK file names, paths etc. If they did we will have a tutorial so you can update the MetaMorph files (yourself). There are way too many ROMs and different devices with different firmware.

The site and images may start looking a little *funky* over the next couple days. We are enhancing the layout and design of droidpirate.com.

Stay tuned, lots of page updates, lots of MetaMorph file changes, only so many hours in a day.

Please leave a comment letting us know which Android device you are currently using, it only takes a few minutes to post a comment.

Droidpirate ROM has also been released in prepackaged release only!

ViewSonic G-Tablet – TNT Lite v4.4.0 w/ DroidPirate Mods

Since this is the most stable version of TNTLite v4.4.0 – already installed no seperate flashing required. TNT has been one of my most favorite ROMs for the G-Tablet; I always expierment with other ROMs but some how I keep ending up back to TNT Lite.. Definitely one of the best in my opinon, i’ve been running the v4.2.1 of TNTLite and decided it was in need of change. I’ve noticed ton of users flashing the TNTLite v5.0.0 version and having a ton of problems I’ve also noticed the 5.0.0 version has been pulled over at XDA. So 4.4.0 is currently the most stable release of TnTLite.

Installation for Standard Recovery
Step 1. Extract the contents of the ZIP file to your computer
Step 2. Copy both the (update.zip and the recovery folder) to the root of your SDCard
Step 3. Power off the device competely
Step 4. Press and hold the power switch and the volume up (+) until you see a recovery screen. After the update is complete your G-Tablet will reboot. Usually when I reflash to a different ROM alot of the permissions get messed up; so you may need to preform a data wipe. Settings -> Security -> Factory Data Reset

ChangeLog since v4.2.1 (Whats installed)
- (4.4.0) Added clemsyn’s v7 kernel, to fix the sleep issue. Also “unfixed” the Camera to correct the mirroring issue.
- (4.3.2) Fixed issue with Flash 10.1 reversion by adding the 10.2 apk into the installation script.
- (4.3.1) Fixed the home and search buttons breaking after wiping the user data
- (4.3.0) Based off 3991 system.img (legacy kernel and bootloader, however), camera fixed, new Market, recovery command line toggle added, 3588 bootloader added
- (4.2.5) New Market (stars?), new Gmail. Also patched for this vulnerability — http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977154
- (4.2.4) build.prop changes to fix recent Market issues (this came from several posts in XDA)
- (4.2.3) Driver update that improves Nenamark scores (40 fps or higher)
- (4.2.2) Added Google Maps 5.1 and the Maps flip fix (thanks jwischka, atakapa and Butch1326!)
- (4.2.1) Add Adam keyboard, Sniffer app (thanks gojimi!). Adds updated Nvidia drivers that correct tearing in the Settings app (thanks proengin!)
- (4.4.0) Droidpirate MODs -> All NotionINK applications optional (install), re-modified all framework files (theme related).

First Droid 2 Custom ROM Released!

First Droid 2 Custom ROM Released

First Droid 2 Custom ROM Released

Already rooted that brand new Droid 2 of yours? Well it’s time to get your first taste of a custom ROM then, EPIC ROM to be more specific. Developer Matt4542, the mastermind behind the Droid 1’s EPIC ROM, has been working hard to get his version for the D2 out first. It appears as if he’s accomplished just that.

EPIC for the D2 is still the stock Blur theme, but has been fully deodexed, includes a bundle of scripts, and no more bloatware. Yay, yay and yay.

Obviously you need to be rooted first, then use Koush’s Droid 2 bootstrap to get Clockwork Recovery flashed. MAKE A FULL NANDROID BACKUP.

All of Matt’s work can be found in our forums, so head over there for instructions and support!

Here is Matt’s dedicated EPIC Droid 2 ROM thread. (UPDATE and BUG FIX THREAD HERE.)

How to ROOT your Android Device on 2.1

So you want to ROOT your Android Device that’s currently running the 2.1 firmware. If you follow my instructions step by step this is the easiest and fastest and less complicated way to ROOT your device.

The first things you are going need are the following, make sure you download and install before attempting to apply any other steps in this tutorial if you do not it simply will not work.

RSDLite v4.6 Download via DroidPirate.com
Motorola USB Drivers for 32Bit v4.2.0 Download via DroidPirate.com
Motorola USB Drivers for 64Bit v4.2.0 Download via DroidPirate.com

1. Download the SBF file that will flash your device you can download this file by Clicking here.
2. Connect your phone to the PC via USB and turn it off then while your phone is booting hold “up” on the DPAD. (Make sure when you are looking at your keypad it is up and not right this is a very common mistake)
3. Run RSD Lite 4.6 as Administrator (For all you Vista and 7 folks out there. If you are using XP you may not need to run as Administrator)
4. If your phone is not displayed in the “model” column you may need to do the following:

– Select the “config” option from the upper left corner of the tool
– Select DeviceId Options
– Select one of the two options available. By default neither are chosen, and my phone shows up fine with neither one selected.

5. Click the [...] next to the filename box and browse to where you saved the .sbf file you want to use and double click the .sbf file.
6. Hit start and below it should give you completion progress
7. Your phone will reboot and you will be on a stock 2.1 phone with SPRecovery installed

You now have the replacement boot-recovery app SPRecovery installed. You can use this tool to perform backups, restore those backups, apply update.zip updates, kernels, and flash full replacement roms.

Installing update.zip Themes, ROMs or Extras

Alot of custom themes are update.zip installations because its the easiest and fastest. Also installing a ROM also uses the update.zip method as well as extra packs that come with the ROM that are not preloaded onto their package. Here I will explain what you need to do a quick and easy update.zip installation.

First things first!!!! Make sure that whatever theme, or extra you are trying to install is compatible with the ROM and version you are using! This is a must if you do not read carefully you can brick your device or you will have to wipe everything on your device.

1. Make sure your device is ROOTed
2. You will either need SPRecovery or ClockWorkMod Recovery installed on your device. Once you install a ROM either program pretty much comes preloaded with the ROM file
3. Boot your device into Recovery mode – Here’s how
- Completely power down your device
- Before you press the power button to turn the device back on hold “X” on the keypad
- (If you are using an Ultimate Droid ROM, you can easily press the power off button on your device and it will have an option to Reboot the Phone into Recovery Mode.

Ultimate Droid Recovery Mode

Continue Reading if you are using SPRecovery:
- Now that you are in Recovery mode through SPRecovery the next steps are simple.
- On the D-PAD, scroll down to “Install”
- Choose “Allow Update.zip Installations
- Next click on “Install Update.zip
– It should take a few moments for the theme to install depending on how large the file is. –
- Once it says it is completed or finished on the D-Pad select “Reboot

Continue Reading if you are using ClockWorkModRecovery:
- Now that you are in Recovery mode through ClockWorkRecovery the next steps are simple.
- On the D-Pad scroll down to “apply sdcard:update.zip
- Next choose “Yes – Install /sdcard/update.zip
– It should take a few moments for the theme to install depending on how large the file is. –
- Once it say it has been completed or finished use the Power button to go Back
- Click “Reboot System Now

Your new Theme, ROM or Extra should now be installed successfully if not there is something wrong with your update.zip file or the way you installed. Please post a comment or try the above steps again.
