Bixby 2.0 Might Show Up Next Week

thumbnail

Samsung is hosting its developer conference in San Francisco next week and it may act as the showcase for Bixby 2.0, according to a report from the Korea Herald. The report also suggests that Samsung already put someone new in charge of the smartphone assistant because of a “lackluster” response to it so far. Chung Eui-suk is now the head of Samsung’s service intelligence group and in charge of further developing Bixby. Chung has been with Samsung for a bit and has previously worked in research ...

Hulu for Android TV updated with Google Assistant voice controls

thumbnail

Voice controls are easily one of the best things to have happened to the living room. Gone are the times when we needed separate 'clickers' for every device, and even the universal remote's days are numbered. Now you can even add Hulu on Android TV to the growing list of "yell-compatible" apps, via the Google Assistant.  Support isn't too extensive, but it does cover all the basics. Assistant-compatible controls include play, pause, resume, fast forward, rewind, and skip to the next item. It might be ...

Bruce Lee will open a can of whoopass on MOBA Heroes Evolved this month

thumbnail

Bruce Lee is the hardest man who ever lived. He could knock an opponent 50 metres vertically through a slate roof with a single one-inch punch. When he executed a roundhouse kick, the resulting sonic boom would ensure that his opponent was deaf by the time Lee’s foot connected – fatally, of course – with his face. And Bruce Lee could fly. It’s no wonder then that R2Games has added him to the roster of heroes in its popular 5v5 MOBA Heroes Evolved. Bruce Lee – the first of ...

Beyond Oasis is the latest Mega Drive classic to arrive on Sega Forever

thumbnail

Beyond Oasis isn’t the best-known of the Mega Drive games, but real gamers (and those who can put up with the limitations of very old games) will no doubt be excited to learn that it has arrived on Sega Forever. It’s likely that at least some of the people reading this weren’t even born when Beyond Oasis came out in 1995, so here’s a quick refresher. It’s a fantasy RPG along the lines of Zelda, and you play as a magic and weapon-wielding hero called Prince ...

Google Wallpapers App Updated With New Categories, Bit of Pixel 2 Goodies

thumbnail

The official Wallpapers app from Google received a few new categories today, including a wallpaper specifically for all Pixel users that was showcased on the Pixel 2 at Google’s October 4 event. From what we can tell, Google has added three new categories, some only accessible by Pixel device owners. In total, the new categories are Geometric Shapes, Underwater, and Keep Looking. Those are the three you’ll find on all Pixel devices. I checked on my LG V30 and only saw Geometric Shapes, though. No Underwater ...

Google to Inject Duo Video Calling Into Core Android Apps

thumbnail

Duo, announced alongside Allo at last year’s Google I/O, has been available as an option for folks who want a solid video calling service directly from Google. It actually works very well and we find ourselves using it much more than we do Allo. Anyway, announced today, Google is starting to inject direct support for Duo right into core services on your Android phone. Google’s vision is to make video calling extremely easy to access, with links to it inside of the Phone, Contacts, and Messages ...

Into the Dead 2 Now Available on Google Play

thumbnail

In March of 2013, one of my favorite zombie killin’ games was launched to Google Play, Into the Dead. Today, its sequel, Into the Dead 2, is now available for download. If you watch the trailer below, don’t get fooled into thinking there is a compelling story to be overly concerned about. Into the Dead 2 is the same “running and killing zombies” gameplay as the first one, although, the story does evolve over time and has multiple endings. As you run through new environments, 60 ...
