We’re now only hours away from Google unveiling its next hardware line-up at an event in San Francisco. We’ve uncovered new info on the Google Home Mini and are likely to find more before we get there. But in an official capacity, Google is also handing out some newness to its apps and services before new products arrive. Last night, they pushed a new Google Home Preview Program update to participants that included a new Night Mode, plus the Google Home app UI  got a ...

BB-8 Arrives in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, But You’ll Need a First Order Squad to Get Him

thumbnail

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is always adding new characters, but the latest addition to the game played a major role in 2016’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens. That’s right, I’m talking about the adorable little “one of a kind” droid known as BB-8. Inside the game, BB-8 is labeled as Droid and Resistance character, making him very viable if those are the types of squads you utilize. For example, if you’re running Finn’s leader ability with BB-8 and three other Resistance toons, BB-8 can inflict multiple ...

theScore Sports Releases “Biggest Update Ever” and Boy are Users Unhappy

thumbnail

Last night, theScore Sports, a sports app that has been one of the best (the best in my opinion) for a number of years now, received its “biggest update ever.” The update is also not being received well by its users, with many already looking elsewhere for their sports info. In fact, the Play store listing for the app is now filled with a bunch of 1 and 2-star ratings, all of which are complaining about the new UI. The reviews are so bad right now you’d ...

Twitter Tests New 280 Character Limit

thumbnail

Twitter’s 140 character limit may be coming to end and I’m not sure how I feel about it. The company made the announcement today via blog post, where they laid out reasoning for a possible expansion from 140 characters in a Tweet to 280 characters. Why would they do that, you ask? Because their data shows that as people run into the 140 character limit and can’t put together a message they are happy with, they just don’t tweet. Actually, they find that to be a ...
